Create Your Video Profile

This is the first step to creating your video showcase. You don't necessarily need to create a different video for every job you apply to but do think about how your video can act like a visual representation of your experience, skills and covering letter. When you're ready, follow our tips to creating your unique Video showcase.

1. Plan. Write an outline, use keywords, and structure your video - Have a beginning, middle and end
2. Showcase your skills/experience and summarise clearly. Focus your primary skills/attributes towards what an employer may be looking for.
3. Communicate and articulate your showcase clearly.
4. Keep it simple.

Webcam Solution (Recommended)

The easiest way to create your video showcase is to use a webcam on your PC or laptop.

Mobile Phone Solution

Many 3G mobile phones now have very high quality video recorders. Check that yours will record either in 'Mpeg4' or '3GP'.

Recording your video showcase

Choose a suitable location: Somewhere quiet with good light (can be inside or outside). Be sure to have your outline script and have done a practice run, as it will go a lot smoother.

Mobile Phone Upload

1. Record your Video Showcase on your mobile phone (.mpeg, 3gp or .mov) and download this to your desktop.
2. Go to 'My Profile and Resume' in the Jobseeker area. Scroll down to the Video Resume section.
3. Select 'Browse' and attach your file. 
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and save changes made.

Webcam Upload

1. Go to ‘Record Video Showcase’
2. Ensure your webcam is plugged in correctly and working – hit ‘Allow’ and the site will automatically detect your webcam. If you can see yourself on screen the webcam picture is displayed correctly – adjust to suit your preference. Right click the Recorder and select ‘Settings’. In the Flash Player Settings go to the last tab that looks like a webcam. Try changing the camera to a different one until a picture is displayed.
3. Click ‘Record’ to start recording and hit ‘Stop’ up to and within 60 seconds, to get your Video live and on the site!

Not Registered

1. If you have not registered and already created a showcase, you only have to browse/upload as you register your profile. There is a section as you register, clearly marked ‘Video Showcase’.
