A technically experienced and passionate enterprise level SEO is required to join a leading UK digital team. The right candidate will lead highly-developed technical consultancy and deliverables across the client portfolio. This position best suits those with a technical / analytics background, comfortable with large datasets and an incredibly curious approach to their work. Wanting to get to the bottom of ranking changes and recommending clear technical roadmaps to client teams that ensure SEO success. Web development and SEO migration experience is essential.

The candidate will also be expected to assist with implementation of best practice processes for on boarding, auditing, keyword research / landscape analysis, reporting and account management, as well as contributing to thought leadership and ensuring the agency is perceived as innovative in the digital space.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete detailed technical SEO audit documentation and provide ad-hoc technical recommendations for enterprise-level, multi-national/lingual websites
  • Create technical SEO project roadmaps according to known opportunities and limitations which therefore result in achievable development projects. This includes managing site migrations from a technical SEO standpoint
  • Support the implementation of SEO recommendations to clients’ development teams and external agencies. This includes a thorough understanding of content management systems and development cycles
  • Manage project management software (e.g. JIRA, Asana, Trello) and provide accurate progress reports to SEO account team flagging risks and opportunities
  • Own the relationship with clients’ in-house technical teams and co-ordinate resource as necessary alongside the SEO management
  • Conveying the importance of page speed to clients in the context of Google’s Core Web Vitals, producing page speed audit documentation and managing automated page speed reports
  • Supporting the testing, creation, and implementation of structured data/schema mark-up
  • Proficiency with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Omniture
  • Lead SEO technical excellence within the team, mentoring junior members and working with the SEO management team to improve team processes and deliverables


ABOUT YOU

 

  • Over of 12 months experience in an SEO focused agency or working for a brand in-house in the SEO team
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills to communicate with client’s project management and development team stakeholders
  • Comfortable explaining the metrics within Google’s Core Web Vitals, their importance for users, and the role they play within SEO
  • Able to confidently and concisely explain the most important SEO ranking factors to a non-technical audience and how to schedule these to maximise ROI
  • High proficiency with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, SiteBulb, DeepCrawl, Botify, Search Console, Data Studio etc. Knows strengths and weaknesses of tools and how to best combine datasets to gain actionable insights
  • Working knowledge of front-end mark-up (HTML & CSS) and how dynamic JavaScript frameworks may adversely affect the organic performance of a website
  • Able to confidently explain the most significant Google milestones including major updates and how they affected the SEO industry and its clients
  • Advanced Excel including vlookup, pivot tables and analysis to derive useful insights from large datasets
  • Willing to actively participate in new business pitches and responses
  • Knowledge of popular CMS and eCommerce platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Salesforce, Magento) and the SEO considerations and limitations of each platform
