The Head of Client Development is a pivotal role, responsible for setting the new business strategy and growth plans across the business and having an in-depth knowledge of the business and commercial models. 

The HoCD will lead the Client Development team to identify new business opportunities, and ensure the team clearly track new business opportunities, client growth and manage pipelines.
The HoCD will develop a deep knowledge about our ways of working, their clients and their goals developing strong positive relationships with key agency stakeholders.
The role will include planning and delivering inspiring and informative presentations to clients and agencies to help meet business goals.

The role will also help with development of marketing and new business ideas to help drive revenue growth across the business. The successful candidate should be passionate about influencer marketing and content creation more broadly, and the role that can play in a client’s marketing plan and strategy.

Role requirements

Drive business growth – the growth of our business depends on understanding our clients’ needs and tailoring the correct business solutions to each individual client. You will find senior agency relationship management and sales process second nature with the ability to achieve and exceed development targets and goals. You will always work methodically with a growth mindset, finding solutions for client requirements. you will be empowered to share knowledge and recommend new revenue opportunities across Influencer and content marketing. 

Deliver a great service – our agency partners are our primary customers, you will communicate well with agency colleagues, share your knowledge, and constantly improve the reputation through your attitude and the work you do. You will articulate the value solutions provides for each client whilst being able to explain the business model and best content strategy. You will act as a point of escalation for troubleshooting commercial business problems and be an expert in content execution, through both platform knowledge and a strong understanding of industry trends and competitor offering. Work closely with Client Success team to support client proposal development that bring to bear all the benefits of our influencer marketing model. 

Deliver results – work closely with Senior members of the team to ensure first-rate client development process is adhered to for yourself and your team, achieving performance targets whilst pushing the digital maturity of your clients through adoption of new products and capabilities. Ensure high quality Response to Brief to our clients, tailored to meet their needs and which positions to best deliver against client outcomes. You will build and maintain a strategic sales plan that focusses on achieving revenue targets.

Motivate the team – demonstrate clear comprehension of company values and business goals to motivate and empower junior members of the team to ensure first-rate client development process whilst driving revenue growth.

The skills we are looking for

Application of industry & technical knowledge – knowledge of the online advertising industry with a focus on social, content and influencer marketing, trends, technologies, and pricing models. Strong content marketing knowledge and how to use our platforms to meet client objectives. A deep understanding of our competitors to be able to articulate our USPs vs theirs. Demonstrable ability to rapidly learn and articulate new value propositions.

Professionalism – be well organized, able to multi-task and handle your own time effectively, and able to work to deadlines. Understanding and effective use of key business systems, and strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. 

Good communication – effective communication with colleagues to ensure successful teamwork. Able to explain our product offering in a compelling way to agency colleagues, and to clients. Tailoring our message to the audience to tell a conclusive story. Communicate clearly and be assertive with internal and external parties (knowing how and when to say "no")

Problem Solving - thorough approach to solving problems with resilience and energy. The candidate should have a strong sense of initiative and personal ownership and embody a work ethic with a “how can we make this happen” mindset.
