We’re looking for an experienced Technical SEO Account Director to join the SEO team as we embark on our next stage of growth. This is an exciting and challenging role for a creative and motivated self-starter to come in and lead a blue-chip client portfolio and ensure the growth of the technical capacity of the SEO team, maintaining high standards and best practices to support our top clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical SEO experience, specifically international SEO and managing international project workstreams. The principal elements of the role will be to lead a team of two SEO specialists (1x exec, 1x manager) and deliver performance according to client requirements and targets, as well as be responsible for search product/service delivery and be a senior client contact for a roster of top tier accounts.

You will have autonomy in this role to lead and develop this team so it’s essential you have a proactive attitude and a real hunger for success. The Technical SEO Account Director will also need to support the Head of SEO in the development of the strategy for the key accounts, driving growth and maximising our clients’ business performance in search. Further, the Director will be heavily involved in new business – leading research, strategy, output and ultimately representing the agency successfully and professionally in pitches.

  • 4-5 years’ experience in SEO, ideally within an agency environment
  • Management experience is essential
  • Excellent knowledge/experience of organic search strategy and international SEO
  • Good numeracy skills with strong experience using MS Excel and constructing formulas
  • Experience in keeping track of budgets and how you’re pacing against client scopes
  • Have a solid understanding of key technical SEO tasks and how they work in tandem with content, and have experience in local SEO, implementing Hreflang tags, and writing structured data and implementing the various types of Schema markup
  • Interest in analytics and an ability to use a combination of data and storytelling to back-up your strategy and sell-in new SEO ideas and strategies to clients
  • Good presentation capability, with the ability to communicate confidently and interpret performance marketing to clients and manage client expectations
  • Excellent working knowledge of SEO tools (GSC, GA, Adobe Analytics, Deepcrawl, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Accuranker etc)
  • Play a key role in the development of the organic search offering, and foster collaboration and transparency between the technical SEO and content teams
  • You have innovative ideas and an understanding and interest in how SEO can better integrate with the likes of CRO, PPC, Digital PR, UX testing and more
  • Identify opportunities to develop new solutions for clients, and automate and productise existing capabilities to create efficiencies
  • Be able to clearly explain to clients how implementing certain technical SEO changes would impact the things important to their business, such as revenue and KPIs
  • Be able to be reactive and forward-thinking, rather than stuck in basic best practices
  • Oversee accurate and timely administration, forecasting, budgeting and financial reconciliation and own the profitability of your client portfolio and team
  • Work on, and contribute to, new business efforts, and be a ‘thought leader’, both within the agency and across the industry
  • Manage client relationships to build respect and trust in your judgement and lead client facing presentations on strategy, campaign recommendations and subsequent results
  • Develop a clear understanding of client business and marketing objectives
  • Bridge relationships across paid teams, ensuring close working collaboration across all pods within Performance
