A top global media agency is looking to appoint an Account Director within their EU Media Network Team: a small but crucial connector on Media based topics and best practice between the Global team based in USA; the central EU team based in London; and to each of 19 Local European Markets.

This is not a traditional Media Network role, as it will be working on one of the largest clients at this agency. They have worked hard over several years to break silos and ensure media is well integrated to the agency’s full-service offering including tools, data, strategy, analytics, planning, creative, production, PR, Social and much more; partnering closely with sister agencies and many more.

The suitable candidate will:
- Support the EU Media Network Business Director across the client account in all aspects of account management, client relationships and project delivery.
- Mentor and oversee the development of a team of Account Managers and an Account Executive (as well as managing non-direct report outputs across the wider team)

Responsibilities include the following:
- Inspiring the immediate team and wider department with a clear and well-articulated point of view.  Building 1-2-1 relationships with the media leads across Europe, especially the big 5 (UK, DE, FR, IT, ES).
- Budget setting and overview including MAP, annual planning with GDIA and any ad hoc reports driven by 10-day, 20-day, or sprints.
- Managing audit process across 5 markets, agreeing audit parameters, attending local media audits. Pulling together rolled up results and inputting into agency incentive scheme
- Working with analytics team to deliver rolled up media reports with actionable insights
- Partnering with the Planning Team on new launches.  Ensuring central recommendations are understood and executed in the most powerful way possible within each market.
- Working with the Market Leadership Team and the Asset Delivery Team to ensure that they are working with the markets in the most consistent and integrated way possible
- Establishing a strong reputation with a wide variety of key vendors of all sizes.
- Passion for and understanding of media. Consistently demonstrating a positive 'can do' attitude, motivating others to follow this behaviour. Is well informed and able to talk with authority about the current and future trends, in technology and media. Is aware of competitive landscape and begins to form opinions on how to turn intelligence into opportunities.
- Is proactive in developing inventive ideas to think beyond the obvious solution, creating plans worthy of award entry.
- Driving the EU Media test/learn agenda (across all channels) and partnering with local teams to presenting local plans, highlights and learning to European clients as required.
- Working with the agency to make sure that they are making the most out of agency knowledge, tools and systems.

In order to be successful, you will ideally have:
- Pan European media experience with a particular focus on UK, IT, ES, DE, and FR
- Be able to anticipate where problems could occur and takes decisive action accordingly.
- Knowledge of all key media tools
- Ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights
- Keen eye for detail 
- 8+ years’ experience with the majority in a media planning function, ideally some of which in a pan European or Worldwide role
- A passion for media and the increasing number of possibilities it offers to deliver impact through data, tech and content
- An ability to recognise the role of paid media channels within the broader comms mix.
- An ability to paint a vision and to take people on a journey
- A positive attitude to collaboration, vital when mentoring planning teams and markets alike
