Job Description


A leading solution provider of rigging and lighting solutions is currently expanding and they now require a dedicated CAD Technician to join their team. This role represents a great opportunity to be at the heart of the planning and creative process for a variety of large scale events and the chance to showcase you own creative talents.

The role
You will work closely with a number of key team members ,Directors and department heads to create a range of drawings including but not limited to rigging and lighting plots ,schematics and site plans all of which you will be expected to maintain with in an up-to-date database. In addition to this you will also liaise with clients, suppliers and internal teams when it comes to the provision of relevant design files when the development and manufacture of new ideas and concepts for a varying scale of projects

You will need to be up to speed on the relevant software that the company uses ensuring that products are legal and up to date. The nature of this company’s business is fast paced and very time sensitive so you must be able to consistently deliver a high standard of work within tight deadlines.

About You
Educated to at least a CND/GNVQ level you will be someone who has a strong design background covering 2D/3D CAD and have a good level of knowledge with manufacturing techniques and materials. Your approach to work is proactive and you can easily manage your time and workflows. You will be familiar with concept interoperation and have a high level of Autodesk CAD experience. The Adobe and MS offices suites will be very familiar to you, if you have experience with WYSIWYG or Vectorworks that will be a nice bonus and ideally you will have practical experience within the entertainment industry covering either rigging or lighting.
