Group Account Director

This is a senior role within a strong media agency reporting into board level. The role is to manage the media team as well as being strategic partners to their clients, media owners, suppliers and the wider agency.

The Role
• Retain and develop a profitable relationship with clients and to deliver excellent client satisfaction survey results and identify areas of improvement
• Optimise the opportunities to engage clients across all media channels
• Seek excellence in the provision of innovative and commercial solutions to client briefs
• Accurately anticipate future consequences and trends in order to build vision for the client account
• Drive integration and collaboration across the agency
• Develop, coach and motivate the team and encourage cross learning between departments
• Build and develop exceptional working relationships with all relevant senior level clients
• Deliver commercial value for both the agency and your clients
• Generate chemistry with clients and become a valued and trusted business partner
• Act as the expert and ensure you are included in all conversations regarding market strategy
• Truly understand clients’ business needs as well as the competitive set
• Lead client strategy meetings and deliver major presentations to the most senior contacts
• Gather market intelligence on competitor activity and any new opportunities arising
• Oversee direct reports’ negotiations with Media Owners to achieve commercial value for the agency, the client and Media Owner


Experience Required
• Demonstrate strong leadership ability and be approachable, in turn gaining the respect of the team
• Demonstrate strategic thinking and long term vision
• Problem identification and solving at a senior level
• A creative thinker who likes to push the boundaries when it comes to finding new routes to market and grow revenue
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Logical , analytical thinker able to write strong rationales to back up proposals
• Strong understanding of media terminology and concepts
• Fully conversant with digital media and able to think across the whole media mix
• People management and development of team
• Demonstrate commercial acumen and the ability to manage and grow revenues
• Ability to inspire clients and teams through work

We would expect a good level of Excel and PowerPoint expertise and it would be an advantage if you have any of the following;

• TGI / Touchpoints (IMS)
• Addynamix
• Brand Ocean
