International Account Director

This is an exciting role to lead a group of 3 key accounts for an international agency network in their London office. The role is central in maintaining client relationships along with driving business growth for the clients in the luxury and financial sectors.

The role sits in the client leadership and planning team reporting into the Managing Partner, with responsibility for a team of 2x Account Managers and 2x Executives.

Responsibilities include:
• Ownership of client briefs - from strategy to implementation through to detailed reporting, optimisation and insight generation
• Owning responses from client brief to execution ensuring that team and agency output is best in class
• Manage the client relationship on a day to day basis, coordinating the execution of the media plan with other internal specialist teams and with media owners as required
• Working closely with the client and managing partner to understand client business challenges and identification of suitable additional agency services to address the client’s needs
• Places the client’s needs at the heart of all delivery and building strong, meaningful relationships with client peers
• Managing external agency partner relationships & developing/managing ways of working in tandem
• Setting a high standard for industry/sales community relationship building
• Drive innovation and fresh thinking across the client’s business as well as across the agency
• Ensures managers and execs are working to deliver integrated plans that display a deep understanding of all channels
• Owns the training, management and growth for all four direct reports
• Managing the internal process of forecasting future media investment from the clients and complicated invoicing processes
• Has a passion and enthusiasm for the evolving international marketing communications landscape and inspiring others to feel the same
• Continuously searching for new improved ways of approaching tasks and processes, and encouraging team to do the same

• A passion and thirst to thrive in the media industry
• Minimum of five years’ experience which includes international media knowledge and cross channel planning/buying experience
• An enthusiastic team player with experience of fostering a collaborative team culture
• Advanced communication skills to uphold relationships across a range of internal & external partners
• Working knowledge of paid, owned, earned and shared media and experience of evolving brands from a traditional media model is essential for this role
• Strong commercial acumen with a willingness to sell-in commercial opportunities that are right for the client’s needs
• You will be passionate about media especially the brand and performance dynamic, coupled with a strong business, market, consumer and brand/performance understanding
• Inspiring presentation skills with clients and in prospective new business pitches
• Proactive nature, someone who makes things happen and thrives from accountability
