Senior Environment Artist

The successful Senior Environment Artist will have a burning passion for all things video games and have several shipped titles in an Environment Artist capacity. Job Responsibilities:
  • Delivering exceptional environmental art ranging from assets to entire scenes
  • Working alongside the Art Director and Lead Environment Artist to create and maintain high quality environments
  • Producing results in line with scheduling, as well as helping to streamline workflows and explore new methods of execution
  • Liaising with the art team in a collaborative context to produce the end result, including mentorship of less experienced artists as Senior Environment Artist
  • Co-ordinating with external outsource vendors, including reviewing work and providing feedback
Requirements:
  • 5+ years’ experience as Environment Artist, with multiple shipped AAA titles
  • Proficiency and familiarity with modern best practises in game art production and software applications
  • Expert skill in 3DS Max, Zbrush, Photoshop
  • Portfolio with exemplary attention to artistic/technical detail including demonstration of ability of natural terrain creation
  • Strong lighting composition skills, including an understanding of colour theory
  • Understanding of art pipelines, workflows, environment scale and form, with associated technical dependencies
Preferred Skills:
  • Experienced with laser scanned data & photogrammetry in track/terrain creation
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, self-motivated attitude
  • Knowledge of modelling optimised 3D content, baking details and creating high levels of detail
  • Implementation of real world vistas in ‘Vue’ and ‘Worldmachine’
  • Unquenchable passion for video games (especially racing genre)
