Strategic Media Account Director
45-55,000 DOE

The Role

  • Supports the Head of Strategy in the effective day-to-day running of accounts. 
  • Helps with developing strategies that deliver client objectives
  • Capable of leading clients annual planning, working collaboratively with the client teams.
  • Delivers high quality output both internally and externally based on attention to detail, and strong verbal and numerical skills
  • Supports in fostering collaboration between internal disciplines, creating a learning culture.
Client management
  • Supports in establishing and maintaining effective client relationships.
  • General management of all issues on designated accounts escalating issue where necessary.
  • Is a valuable member of the team by delivering on clients’ needs in an insightful, thoughtful and timely manner through planning and meeting deadlines.
  • Has an understanding of the nature of the client’s business needs, industry and products, as well as the competitive set.
  • Anticipates and resolves client conflict. Quickly identifies potential threats and helps to address these.
  • Able to take a client brief and interrogate the client in a diplomatic manner to ensure the response is of the highest quality.
  • Harnesses tools and systems to provide relevant insights and data.
Quality of work
  • Effectively and efficiently manages and delivers excellent media product and thinking for clients.
  • Ability to multi-task across a number of projects and clients.
  • Creates, analyses and enhances media plans.
  • Manages the process from briefing to campaign evaluation.
  • Takes the client’s business objectives and turn them into communications and media tasks.
  • Harness digital and other technology tools to provide evidence based rationales.
  • Helps manage overall scope of work and ensures there is a balance between client and Agency needs.
  • Assists and works on new business pitches when required.
  • Sets standards for all client deliverables and hold team members accountable for overall quality control on strategic planning tasks
People Management
  • Offers guidance to Managers & Execs with an element of coaching and provides ongoing constructive feedback about job performance in addition to annual Blueprint appraisals 
  • Manages and develops the Managers, encouraging them to support and motivate their team.
  • Identifies skills gaps and areas for development for the Managers & Execs.
  • Seeks coaching opportunities.
  • Appropriately delegates both routine and important tasks and decisions.
  • Supports in managing internal relationships with buying teams / departments
  • Actively promotes team achievements with clients and internally (team player).
  • Develops a strong working relationship with colleagues and nurture a positive team spirit
Commercial awareness
  • Shows an understanding for opportunities to maximize revenue and opportunities to grow business
  • Compliance - ensures contractual commitments are met.
  • Understands and manages the budgeting process when planning a campaign to avoid any fundamental errors.
