As the AV Technical Project Manager you will work closely with the Technical Sales team, Projects & Engineering Support Manager and Project Manager as well as the Installation engineers and Project Administration team to deliver the solutions to their clients.
Someone who would be able manage the day to day running of projects, some of which may only be a couple of days, while others would last a number of weeks, you will need to be very good communicating with office, other engineers and Clients and be there to represent the company.
Must have a broad technical experience of AV and VC as well as good IT knowledge.
The role will include validating the technical design of the systems including the production of system schematics, as well as checking system drawings created by others.
As the AV Technical Project Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the company’s high installation standards are maintained and that systems are commissioned prior to handover.
The role will include hands on project management of some of our projects, carrying out the essential post sale, pre-installation communication with the client or fit out company and engineers, as well as assisting the project administration teams with RAMS and producing O & M information.
You will ideally have a proven track record of technical design and project managing audio visual or videoconferencing installations into corporate and government environments and will have good verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Proven track record of system design including specifying equipment, cables and components.
Detailed knowledge and experience of audio DSPs, videoconferencing systems and HDMI switching equipment from Extron, Kramer and Crestron.
Experience of commissioning audio visual systems and user training
Will possess a fundamental understanding of audio visual system functionality and installation process and techniques. The role includes the production of elevation drawings, cable schedules and system schematics, so experience of MS Visio and/or StarDraw is essential.
Detailed knowledge and experience of Crestron and Extron control systems with basic programming capability.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical and other project related issues.
Ability to generate timely, concise and effective business correspondence.
You will ideally also have experience of and the ability to install equipment, terminate cables
Must be able to manage a team of engineers, which will be a mix of permanent and sub-contractors and must bee able to look at a job as a whole and prioritise the tasks while maximising the relevant engineer’s strengths while onsite.
You should be able to design/draw and commission AV systems to ensure that all jobs are delivered on time, to budget and handed over to the client in a timely manner.
We would expect a steady stream of feedback and communication so that everyone works as a team to deliver the clients expectations and for the engineer to take ownership and responsibility for delivering the project.
