Job description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated AV Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio and visual equipment for various events and installations. The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and excellent customer service abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Setup and Operation:
- Install, configure, and operate audio, video, and lighting equipment for live events, conferences, meetings, and other functions.
- Set up and test microphones, speakers, video monitors, projectors, video screens, recording equipment, sound and mixing boards, and related electronic equipment.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform regular maintenance checks on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with AV equipment in a timely manner.
- Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
Event Support:
- Provide on-site technical support during events to ensure smooth operation of AV systems.
- Collaborate with event organizers to understand AV requirements and provide expert advice on the best solutions.
- Ensure all AV setups are completed in accordance with safety regulations and company standards.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- A diploma or degree in Audio Engineering, Media Production, Electronics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an AV Technician or similar role, preferably in a live event or corporate environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in the setup and operation of AV systems, including soundboards, mixers, microphones, projectors, and lighting systems.
- Strong understanding of signal flow and AV networking.
- Experience with troubleshooting AV equipment and systems.
- Familiarity with video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy AV equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
