Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated AV Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio and visual equipment for various events and installations. The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and excellent customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and Operation:

    • Install, configure, and operate audio, video, and lighting equipment for live events, conferences, meetings, and other functions.
    • Set up and test microphones, speakers, video monitors, projectors, video screens, recording equipment, sound and mixing boards, and related electronic equipment.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

    • Perform regular maintenance checks on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with AV equipment in a timely manner.
    • Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Event Support:

    • Provide on-site technical support during events to ensure smooth operation of AV systems.
    • Collaborate with event organizers to understand AV requirements and provide expert advice on the best solutions.
    • Ensure all AV setups are completed in accordance with safety regulations and company standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

    • A diploma or degree in Audio Engineering, Media Production, Electronics, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as an AV Technician or similar role, preferably in a live event or corporate environment.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in the setup and operation of AV systems, including soundboards, mixers, microphones, projectors, and lighting systems.
    • Strong understanding of signal flow and AV networking.
    • Experience with troubleshooting AV equipment and systems.
    • Familiarity with video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX).
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy AV equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
